Today, retail industry meets various problems pertaining to automation. For example, designing a cashier-less store is a really complex task that includes customer interaction management, building interface for management system, checkout system design. Most of these issues are not associated with customer social factors and may only improve the shopping experience. However, some questions consider social aspects related to business income. One of them is fraud prevention.
In this talk, we will review a fraud detection system for cashier-less and semi-cashier-less stores. We will touch on technical aspects of implementation from both the equipment and software perspectives — from integration step to alert notifications. Moreover, we will cover the challenges faced during the system design and development, tracking them through all the way and considering the solutions that were found.
